Arguably France's most exclusive resort, well located in the world's largest truly inter-connected ski area (Trois Vallées) and with some of Europe's best infrastructure, Courchevel would rate in the top 10 selection of resorts around the world for most dedicated skiers. The resort is made up of four different base stations, all self-contained villages and all known by their altitudes, except for 1300 which still calls itself Le Praz. The best known is Courchevel 1850.Courchevel pretty much ticks the box for eveyone from Families with great ski schools for the Kids to the expert skier. There is plenty to do in the evenings, but such concentrated nightlife as its rival Val d Isere.
- Massive ski area
- British ski schools
- Family destination
- Caters for all satdards
- Good beginners area
- Variety of accommodation
- Keep your eyes out for the piste du jour or run of the day it will be listed at most lift stations and is the run considered to in best condition that day
- Visit the Folie Douce in Meribel but keep an eye on the lift times as its an expensive taxi ride back to Courchevel
- Courchevel has a fantastic free bus service which (during winter) connects Courchevel 1300 to 1550, 1650 & 1850 every ½ hour from 7:00 until 1:30 the next morning!
- For best value accommodation consider Le Praz Courchevel 1300,it has direct lift links up to 1850 and a lovely return run through the trees
